★Review★ GRAYSON by Lisa Eugene

by Lisa Eugene

An insane love that will keep you from falling---or push you right off the edge.

All she needed was a job…

The last thing twenty-four year old grad student Angie Roberts needs is to worry about her new boss’s father. After all, she’s never even seen him. He remains sequestered upstairs in a house that looks like it should be the main feature in an episode of Hoarders. She had no idea the house was such a dump when she took the job. But she’s concerned about the safety and health of the old man living under such horrid conditions.

What she got was a mystery…

Despite warnings not to venture upstairs, she wanders up to the second floor. What she sees is shocking. The man she finds is a gorgeous, sexy, middle-aged man-- and he's stepping out of the shower. But something is definitely not right. Why would this wealthy, handsome man live in a house in such disrepair while his nine-teen year old son resides in a lavish penthouse? Why does he hide away from society? Why does he come to her rescue and then run away?

What she discovered was heartbreaking…
Angie learns that forty-four year old Grayson Whitmore suffers from schizophrenia. Paranoid, he retreats into his own world.

What she ended up with was a treasure…

Angie is determined to get through to Grayson. They form a friendship that blazes into an inconceivable love fired with raging passion. Angie must now come to Grayson’s rescue because the wicked that has been perpetrated on him is unconscionable. First, though, she must gain the trust of a man whose mind does not allow for such a thing.

Contemporary romance. Intended for readers 18+

I absolutely loved this book!  The blurb lured me in and when I started reading, I was hooked.  The author’s writing is articulate & perfect - making this a fabulous read.

I easily fell in love with the amazing characters.  Angie is a heroine that I love to read in my books.  She’s strong, smart, determined, witty, and sassy.  Grayson is also an amazing character.  He is strong, smart, and absolutely sexy…yet vulnerable at times. He knows he’s ill, yet he is very capable of running a multi-million dollar company from his home.  The notes & banter between these two were so fun to read.  And the passion between them is super sexy-hot, and the author does a fabulous job at making the reader feel that passion.  There were also touching parts and heart-breaking moments that tugged at my heartstrings.  Loved all the feels!

This was my first book by this author and I can’t wait to read more from her!  I definitely recommend this!

Release Blitz & Review: 3 SECONDS (Time For Love, #6) by Bethany Lopez

3 Seconds is LIVE!!!

3 Seconds (Time For Love, #6)
by Bethany Lopez

Release Date:  August 25, 2015

A lot can happen in 3 Seconds. It's the space of time between walking onstage and stepping up to the mic. It’s that moment when your eyes meet across a crowded room and the chemistry between you is undeniable.

Bronagh has accomplished a lot in her thirty-five years. A successful pub owner and happy divorcée, she's learned to enjoy life, but have realistic expectations. Her past has taught her that it's best not to depend on others, but that doesn't mean she won't sample a tasty morsel when it's right in front of her.

After taking a break from culinary school to travel abroad, Brendan is back and eager to finish what he started. Although he relishes the nights he gets to play with his brothers in their band, and enjoys their healthy supply of groupies, he's ready to start acting like the twenty-something that he is…a fact he craves to prove with Bronagh.
What starts as a one-night-stand becomes more when Bronagh and Brendan realize that they can't walk away. But can a younger man who's prone to late nights and scantily-clad women convince a woman who's been hurt that age doesn't matter, and he's the man she needs?

3 Seconds is book #6 in one of my favorite series, and let me tell you, it just keeps getting better & better! This book is more proof as to why I’m a big fan of this author. Again we are given an amazing story with characters that are so real, you just want to wrap your arms around them and squeeze!

Ms. Lopez has made the hero in this book a VERY sexy one. He’s also very smart, very talented, and isn’t’ afraid to go after what he wants. Brendan sings in a band with his two brothers… he is also attending culinary school. A hot musician who can cook – nice right?! One night while playing a gig, he spots Bronagh dancing and having a good time. After the show, he is drawn to her and cannot fight the need to approach her. Their chemistry is hot & the sparks fly.

Bronagh is a great heroine. She’s a sexy, divorced older woman who has been burned in the past, so why not have a little fun with this young hottie? And they definitely have lots of fun!

And I must mention this: Bronagh’s friends! I want these girls to be MY friends! They are funny, they are smart asses, and most importantly, they are “hurt-my-friend-and-I’ll-cut-you” type girls. I absolutely fell in love with them! They are another perfect example of fantastic characters created by this author.

I can always count on Bethany to give me a story that will suck me in from the very beginning and keep me turning page after page until I have completely devoured it, and I’m left with a big smile on my face. I highly recommend 3 Seconds! If you haven’t read the previous books in the series, I’m pretty sure you’ll want to after reading this.

5 hearts!

✦ Blurb

I. Remember. Everything.

Only now I wish I didn’t.

When the fog is sucked away from my mind like smoke through a vacuum, the truth that has been beyond my reach for months finally reveals itself.

But the relief I thought I would feel never comes, and I’m more afraid now than I was the morning I woke up handcuffed in King’s bed.

Because with the truth comes dark secrets I was never meant to know.
I will put the lives of those I love most at risk if I let on that my memory has returned, or if I seek help from the heavily tattooed felon who owns me body and soul.

I don’t know if I’m strong enough to resist the magnetic pull toward King that grows stronger every day.

He’s already saved me in more ways than one. Now it’s my turn to do whatever it takes to save him.

Even if that means marrying someone else…

★★ Micki's Review ★★

Buckle in and hold on tight!  Author T.M. Frazier is about to take you on another crazy ride!

I think it's easy to say that King and Pup have become one of my favorite book couples of all time!  As the author navigates you through their world of twists and turns... You can't help but fall more deeply in love with each of them.

The strength they have to survive, even at Pup's young age, is only overshadowed by their desire to save the love they have found in each other.

There were times I felt like the wind had been knocked from my sails...I was emotionally exhausted as I read of their struggles to get back to each other.

I couldn't devour the words in this novel fast enough.
My heart raced, I held my breath, yelled at my kindle and cried... it was a complete gamete of emotions for me.

There was not one second of let down in the story line, character development, or level of writing. No breathers, no bathroom breaks and if reality somehow creeps in... it will just piss you off.

Once you start this series, it will be You, King and Pup.
Nothing else will exist because nothing else will matter!
If that doesn't speak to the talent of this author, I don't know what else will.

Keep writing, Ms. Frazier...I promise you there are a bunch of us that will one-click you like the crazy fan-girls we are!

✦ Excerpt ✦

He cupped my ass and lifted me up, wrapping my legs around his waist. “There was one point I’d made the decision to tell you the truth. I owed you that much. But then all the shit went down with Isaac and Preppy, so when I made the deal with your father for Max, I thought I was doing you a favor by giving you your life back and getting you out of all the shit that came with being in mine.”

I squeezed my thighs around his waist, rubbing myself against his hardness. I moaned. “But you weren’t giving me my life back.” I corrected. I placed my palms on his cheeks and held his face in my hands, searching for any sign in his eyes that what I felt for him might have been wrong, but instead what I found was a resounding need to fix what was broken between us. Tears formed in my eyes. “You were taking it away.” King’s lips parted. He ran his thumb across my lower lip, turning his head he kissed his way up my arm.
“Goosebumps,” King observed, running his fingertips across my already stimulated skin. I bit my lip and stifled a moan.
“It’s just the heat," I lied.

"You've got that fucking right," King growled, bending my wrist behind my back, his lips came crashing down over mine. We were a tangling of lips, clanking of teeth, sloshing through the water to better line ourselves up with each other. It wasn't pretty.

It was need.

"I’m still fucking mad at you for letting me go,” I said into his mouth, while our tongues did things other parts of me throbbed to do.

King stilled and held my face away from his, our chests heaving in unison, my erect nipples rubbing against his hot hard skin as we panted together. Our breaths mingled in the air. He ran his hand down the side of my face and cupped my cheek in his palm. "I didn't give you away, Pup. I released you."

I stilled. "You released me?" I couldn't hide the hurt in my voice. For some reason, releasing me sounded worse than letting me go.

King ran his tongue across the tip of my earlobe, holding me tightly against his warmth. Chills ran down my spine and into my very core and they had nothing to do with the temperature of the rain.

"I tried to release you, Pup. For Max. But there was a major problem with that plan, and no matter what happened, it would never have worked," King confessed.

"Why is that?" I asked, needing to know, but at the same time acutely aware of the pulsing between my legs. Relief and release was only a scrap or two of fabric away. Throbbing for me.

"The problem was…you never released me," King growled, crashing his lips to mine. He moaned into my mouth when I rubbed myself up against his straining erection. He pushed the fabric of my shorts aside and the second he parted my folds with his index finger, I shuddered. He plunged a long index finger inside of me, and for a second my eyes rolled back in my head until he withdrew it. I cried out in frustration, wiggling myself against him, needing him to make me feel anything other than empty.

Finding Sunshine was a fast-paced story with a good story-line and likable characters.  Aaron was a strong, protective, caring & dirty talking ex-con and I was always eager to get to his POV.

I enjoyed the author's writing style.  I thought she did a great job creating amazing chemistry between Aaron & Nina – especially during their first encounter at the coffee shop.

What didn’t work for me was the overuse of the words “Golly” & “Goddess” by Nina.  At times, it felt as if it took away from the emotions of certain scenes.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, and would definitely read from this author again.

“Who’s Russell?” Jordan asks, changing her mode of attack. “Is he as smokin’ as Aaron?”

“He’s Aaron’s dog,” I say laughing, grabbing my mocha from the microwave. “He’s more adorable than ‘smokin,’ and his kisses aren’t nearly as nice.”

I walk over and flop myself down onto the corner of the sofa, to relax and resume my morning wakeup ritual. Jordan follows behind me and sits down next to me, eating one of my strawberry yogurts.

I really hope that’s not the last one. I had plans for it later.

Several minutes later, my phone vibrates and beeps nearby, and I pick it up from where it’s laying on the coffee table. Looking at the screen, I see that I’ve received a new text message.

Aaron: Russell wanted to say hi.

Smiling, I quickly send a reply.

Nina: Russell? :D

“Who’s texting you?” Jordan asks, between mouthfuls.

“Russell,” I say plainly as a reply to my text rapidly comes in.

Aaron: Yes, he really liked meeting u.

“A dog is texting you?”

“Aaron is doing it for him,” I say, smiling with a duh expression, as she just continues to look confused.

“He’s texting you, pretending to be a dog?”

“No,” I say distractedly, as I attempt to type out another reply.

Nina: I really enjoyed meeting him. He’s a gr8 kisser. ;)

Looking up at Jordan, I add, “He’s just being silly, telling me Russell enjoyed meeting me.”

“He sounds as crazy as you are,” Jordan says derisively.

Aaron: Better than me?!!!

Nina: Ummm... Pleading the 5th ;)

Aaron: Naughty girls get spanked.

Nina: Promise? :D

Aaron: Behave!

Aaron: See u 2night.

“Why are you laughing?” Jordan asks, breaking my focus away from the screen in my hand.

“He’s just being silly,” I say, as I quickly send my final message.

Nina: Have a good day. Thnx u 4 the mocha! xxx

I adore—I love—how playful and silly he can be. There’s no mistaking that he’s an alpha, take charge kind of male, but he fills me with a warmth that I didn't know existed within me.

**Review** THE HURRICANE by R. J. Prescott

Emily McCarthy is one lucky girl! Cormac O'Connell has her in his sights and to the dismay of every other woman on the planet, he is completely taken by her! Cormac is not the type of man to be ignored and when he wants something - he makes it happen!

Ms. Prescott has an amazing writing style that allows emotion to swirl around even the most intense and hardened scenes. She pulls  you into the world of Emily and Cormac with ease, leaving you hooked by your heart and wanting to crawl into the story. It's a difficult thing to write strong, alpha men that don't come off as controlling and cocky. She  has written Cormac with the right mix of confident "I will kill you if you touch what's mine" fighter vs. soft-hearted "I will love you forever" prince charming.

I have to be honest, I read a lot of books each month. I've been lucky to find many books that I enjoy, but often, they run together and I often have to be reminded what a book is about.

But this book has consumed me. After three months, I still find myself thinking about the characters and the story line. R.J. has written a book that will stay with me - one that I will revisit every time someone asks, "What book would you like to forget about so you could read it for the first time again?"
For me, it will always be The  Hurricane.

Please read this book, you will love being consumed by R.J. Prescott.

R.J. Prescott was born in Cardiff, South Wales and studied law at the University of Bristol, England. Four weeks before graduation she fell in love, and stayed. Ten years later she convinced her crazy, wonderful fire fighter husband to move back to Cardiff where they now live with their two equally crazy sons. Juggling work, writing and family doesn't leave a lot of time, but curling up on the sofa with a cup of tea and a bar of chocolate for family movie night is definitely the best part of R.J. Prescott's week. "The Hurricane" is her debut New Adult Novel.
