** Lori's Top 13 of 2013 **

During 2013, I read 86 books.  Some of those were just okay, some were good, and then there were the ones that were so friggin' awesome that they rocked my world in one way or another.  My list consists of books that made me do one or more of the following:

  • lose sleep/stay up too late
  • forget to eat
  • smile/giggle/laugh out loud
  • cry/ugly cry
  • swoon
  • gasp out loud
  • sneak read at work
  • made me fall in love/lust with yet another book boyfriend
  • made me want to bitch-slap and/or throat-punch a few characters
  • contact and/or stalk the author
  • follow the fictional characters on Twitter/Facebook (a bit obsessive don't you think?)

And my Top 13 may have also:
  • had me so pissed off I wanted to throw my Kindle
  • ripped my heart out, chewed it up & spit it out
  • allowed me to escape reality into a beautiful world where all of the men are perfect
  • sucked me in from the very beginning until the very end
  • more than likely, given me a HUGE book hangover

These weren't necessarily published in 2013, but books that I read during the year.  I had to include the series in some of them - there was no way I could pick a favorite out of them.

Here are my favorites in no particular order:

1. Thoughtless series by S.C. Stephens

12. Collide/Pulse by Gail McHugh

13. Easy by Tammara Webber

So there ya have it.  That was a very hard list for me to make.  Wait, let me rephrase that... the 13 that I have on the list were VERY easy to add.  The hard part was leaving off some books that I loved a lot, but didn't make it because there weren't enough spots.

Thank you so much to the wonderful authors that make reading so satisfying for me.  Thank you for your talented writing, for the time you put into your work, for appreciating your fans, and most of all, thank you for your creative & beautiful minds.
